About The Magnet Engineer

The site and tools are to teach and inspire designs in magnetic circuits. I enjoy helping others understand the intricacies of magnetics. I've given lectures on permanent magnet design and circuit analysis to engineers in every industry, travelling all over the world to do so. I teach a basic magnetics course quite often, as well as lectures in testing, materials, electric motors, and any other topic involving magnetic circuit design. Have your company schedule an event!

Designing magnet solutions for all industries, specializing in exceptionally small magnets for consumer electronics. I've taught engineers in the IEEE, and am an avid volunteer. I am the former chair of the Louisville section of the IEEE (2 years) and was an officer for many more. I am now a member of the Santa Clara Section since my move to Silicon Valley.

Cited scientist and patented inventor, with many publications in magnetics. I'm working on my PhD in sintered NdFeB surface degredation in high surface area to volume ratio magnets.

Let me know how I can help you or your company! Magnetic design is an art. Keeping a permanent magnet magnetized is half the battle in design (choosing the right shape and coercivity for your circuit), but it also takes experience and process knowledge to create the most efficent mass-manufacturable design possible.
